| The world is going to end. The first snow fell here in Michigan
before Thanksgiving. I haven't seen this much snow this early
ever. It's all because of "global warming" that there is snow in
Minnesota.

| I've been thinking lately, which is a good thing for people to do,
about many things. This is because of my work situation.
Usually when I go into work I am the only person working out in the
lot, so I get a lot of time to think. I had to work on Veteran's
Day, so logically this subject dominated my thinking at times.
It's amazing what our fighting men and women have done so that we can
enjoy all the things that we do, including bloging. As my mind
was thinking about all of this my mind started thinking about how an
entire generation of veterans was forgotten and despised for a
while. I am talking about the veterans of the Vietnam War.
Yes, I know that now they have a memorial in D.C., and probably the
more memorable than the one to the veterans of WWII. These guys
fought to keep communism from spreading and now people who dodged the
draft are held in better light than they are. Then they had to
come home to "veterans" like John Kerry making up lies about
atrocities that were not committed. The final "screw you" was
performed by the Democrats in Congress who torpedoed any attempt to
keep the North/South Vietnam divide that our soldiers had fought for
just because the Republican president, Nixon, who set up the peace did
things that were far less treasoness than what Democrats had been doing
for the last twenty years. I know that this is turning into a
rant, but I have been looking for a place to vent for the last few days.

| So I can't post with any regularity. What do you want me to do, hole myself up in a cave and do nothing but post on my xanga site. There is nothing I can do to please you people. Maybe later I can think of some issue on which to write, but it's too late at night right now. | | |
| I am finally posting again. Sorry for the delay, but I got other things to worry about besides posting my thoughts on the internet. A lot has happened in the last two months. Couple of hurricanes hit the Gulf Coast which is truly a travesty. The war is still going on in Iraq. A new Chief Justice of the Supreme Court was installed and the replacement for Sandra Day O'Conner was just nominated. The last item is what I am going to talk about.
President Bush has wasted a perfectly good opportunity to return the court to its intended form. A court that judges laws based on the Constitution not one that finds laws hidden in the meaning of the Constitution. Instead Bush has nominated his close friend Harriet Mires, the chief counsel for the White House. The only discernable evidence for her nomination seems to be that she "has no paper trail" and she is a woman. If Bush wanted to nominate a woman, why didn't he nominate Judge Pricilla Owen or Judge Janice Rogers Brown? The fact that a judge has a paper trail shows that they are willing to stand for their views even in the face of adversity. Mires has no evidence whatsoever that would show that she is qualified to sit on the nations highest court. The only reason she was nominated was the fact that she is a friend of the president and a woman. | | |
| Sorry for the delay. I don't know how often I will post anymore because I am doing a lot of stuff. Today's post is very short. Should President Bush pressure Mexican President Vicente Fox to give a barrel oil to the U.S. for every illegal immigrant that is in America per month? This basically equals 20 million free barrels of oil a month. Ponder that. | | |
